User Permissions Management

Control what your team members can access and do in TallyHub. This guide covers setting up and managing user permissions.

User Roles

TallyHub comes with predefined roles:

  • Owner: Full access to all features
  • Manager: Access to most features except billing
  • Cashier: POS and sales access only
  • Staff: Limited access based on permissions

Custom Permissions

You can create custom permission sets:

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Click "Create Role"
  3. Select permissions for the role
  4. Save and assign to users

Common Permission Sets

  • Sales Only: Access to POS and sales
  • Inventory Only: Access to inventory management
  • Reports Only: View-only access to reports

Best Practices

  • Follow the principle of least privilege
  • Review permissions regularly
  • Remove access for former employees immediately
  • Use role-based access when possible
